3 Amigo lights and code 1590 while idling?

As the title, i went into the gas station and ran into someone i knew, i left the disco idling for about 10 mins came back out and the 3 amigo lights was on. I read/cleared the code (1590) and they went off. The ABS light stayed on for about 100 ft then went off as well. Ive read the 1590 is rough road code, but while idling? Any suggestions?

Well 1590 as far as i know just means your amigos are on. are you reading with an abs reader or just a regular reader? if you are using a regular reader it wont read the code and it will just say 1590 rough road. it could be that it read an engine knock as a rough road and the cars computer read it wrong and tripped the 3 amigos. (this is just from my experience with my 1590 code)

from Rave about rough road signal:

Rough road signal
When the vehicle travels across rough terrain, or on rough roads instability becomes evident in the drive train. The ECM could interpret these vibrations as a 'false misfire'. To counteract this 'false misfire' the SLABS ECU generates a rough road signal, sends it to the ECM so that the ECM can suspend misfire detection for as long as the vehicle is travelling on the 'rough road'.

From rave about the codes:

In the following format:
P Code
J2012 Description
Land Rover Description

P1590
ABS rough road signal circuit malfunction
Hardware is OK, but SLABS ECU is sending an error signal

P1591
ABS rough road signal circuit low
Signal from SLABS ECU short circuit to earth

P1592
ABS rough road signal circuit high Signal from
SLABS ECU short circuit to vehicle battery supply

So basically the P1590 means that all of the computers are talking to each other just fine, but that SLABS computer is just sending an error message instead of the rough road signal. The 3 amigos is more evidence that the SLABS computer is detecting an error.

I might add i just replaced all 4 rotors and pads, stoptech rotors and akebono pads. I dont have an abs reader and i just cleared the code. Today i went back out kicked in the antilocks and everything was ok, i spun the tires on purpose and bingo they came back on. I did it again just to lock the lights on. Will someone rent me there ABS Amigo V1 USB

ninjaff21 11-19-2013 04:26 PM

instead of getting an abs amigo just get the CDP+ its half the price and its probably cheaper in a way than trying to rent one every time your amigos fire off.
