95' Disco Overheating Issues!!!!!!
 

I was over heatingbefore after driving around town. The gauge will rise to almost high, but wasn't loosing coolant and narrow down toa badradiator. I put in a new one but kept the old hoses. However now the coolant is boiling hot after of driving one block, but gauge shows normal. It didn't do that with the old radiator. I don't get it. How effective is changing out the hoses? Can I also get regular autozone like hoses to cut and bend to replace?

Did you replace the t/stat, do you know how to bleed the air out of the system and did you do it??

I replace t-stat before when I narrow the over heating to the radiator. This time no. I pick up one yesterday and i was going to take it to the shop to let them work it out. but if it's something simple as that then i can do it myself.

I agree with Mike, bleed the cooling system first.
What coolant was in it before you replaced the radiator and what coolant did you put back in?

How do you bleed out the air in the system?

With the engine coldremove the cap off of the coolant resevoir and remove the fill plug from the top of the radiator.
Start the truck and roll down the drivers window, turn both temp knobs to full HOT HVAC fan on low and direction to "vent"
Let the truck idle keeping a eye on the temp gauge and feeling for hot air coming out of the vent.
Keep the coolant resevoir full.
Once hot coolant starts to come out of the radiator fill plug in a nice steady stream replace the fill plug. Leave the truck running this whole time.
After you replace the fill plug on the radiator wait for steam to come out of the coolant resevoir and then replace that cap as well.
Make sure that the coolant resevoir is full at all times and that your temp gauge is normal and you have heat coming from the vents.
Once everything is closed back up you may turn the engine off.
For the next two days before youdrive the truck for the first time in the morning check the coolant level in the coolant resevoir.
This entire process takes about 30-45 min.

It was green coolant. I put green back in.

My upper hose gets ready hot also!
