96 Disco front bumpers....
What is the cheapest aftermarket bumper for a 96 disco. I dont want to go with a factory one since after putting on all new plastic it will be about 800 even with aftermarket stuff. Im just looking for a plain black steel bumper. Any one know of anything cheap?

RE: 96 Disco front bumpers....
There are alot of used bumpers listed on the different Rover forum classified sections that might save you some money. If you want ne look at the basic bumpers from RTE or TJM. The other thing to consider is make your own, a bunch of us have.

RE: 96 Disco front bumpers....
I just installed a TJM bumper on my '03. I am pleased with the results. If you go TJM I've gotta recommend the guys at DAP (do a search and you will find them). The price you pay will be less than they list on their website, I guess there is some kind of minimum advertising price or something, if you call and are prepared to pay the list price, you will be quite pleased with the quoted price!
I was in the exact situation as yourself, somebody smashed my plastic stock bumper, and one piece of the (6) piecestock bumper was $765, $165 for each of the two fog light wings, and I forget how much for the crush cans....ouch. But I didn't want a big hulk of steel upfront either. All the aftermarket bumpers for an '03 have the brush bars built in, I chose TJM and it turned out to look quite nice. Shipping was a bear though, thing came on a trailer truck in a box the size of a coffin. |
RE: 96 Disco front bumpers....
I was thinking about the TJM for it. I dont much care what it looks like as long as its fairly cheap and looks better than the mangled bumper thats on it. Side caps are gone, fog lights and airdam are gone, just the center plastic is hanging on right now. As far as shipping, Id drive up to DAP to pick it up, they are only 2 hours from me.
