A '98 Disco I with a no start?
 

Need some help please. Wife is ready to burn the Disco with me in it!

Have had multiple misfires for awhile now with no proper diagnosis. Wife was driving it home the other day and it simply stopped running at about 75mph. Towed it off the interstate and changed plugs and wires and tested all of the coils comparing to a new coil for reference. Have a nice blue spark at the plugs. Hooked a noid light to the injectors. We have injector pulse. I did get lifted by the driver's fender while checking for spark though. I am lost. Fuel pump? Bad ground? Something else?

You need to check for fuel pressure at the fuel rail.
There is a schrader valve on the fuel rail, with the key in the "ON" position press on the valve, does fuel squirt you in the face or does it dribble like a old man trying to pee?

How many miles?

130,000 miles No pressure at valve Power at fuel pump No "humm" at fuel pump Probably the fuel pump?

Make sure that the new fuel pump is, advanced evaporitive loss as there are 2 pumps for the DI.
1997 started with the AEVAP but they will still list 2 different fuel pumps for your year.

I am installing just the pump (Bosch #60218) from Advance Auto instead of the whole unit. Just can't get the stuping factory plastic "accordian" line off of the pump. :mad:

Stupid question I know, but how do you test for power at the fuel pump. I have a multimeter, just no good at using it. Thanks.

make sure the sending unit and electrical bits to the pump are good...
