Dextron 3 is also fine, just wasn't available when our trucks were made. I run Vavolines Extended mileage Dex 3 with great results. It is designed to keep older trannys free of lacqur that causes slippage, it is also designed to prevent both the inner and outer seals from leaking.

RoverBoy, so I just want to make sure, you do know how to top of the fluid level, if not you will be running low and can cause damage with time.

Not actually really really laughing at you, but just imagining your face when you realised your mistake. Probably an Omer Simpson DOH!!!!!.

Somewhat like me on an old Jeep trying to tighten a valve cover bolt at 3ft/pd and after the cover had cracked, I re-read and realised it was 3inch/pd. Anyways, had to be there I guess!!!
