How do you tell if a DII has ACE? 2004 SE7

RE: ACE

Look underneath the truck real quick. If you see hydraulic rams in the place of anti-roll bars, you've got ACE.

Actually, I guess the AR bars are there in fact, but here's a pic that might help you out. Also, look in one of the fuse panels. There should be a fuse for the ACE sensors, right?

RE: ACE

Is ACE just "something else to go wrong"? Is it more reliable than the brake system? Is it a hinderance off-road?

RE: ACE

A hinderance off-road it would seem like to me... but it all depends on what kind of offroading you do. If you go rock crawling, you would probably benefit with the removal of the anti-roll bars and ACE system. Also, the ACE has nothing to do with the braking system. It's just a system that, by alternately stiffening the appropriate sway bars, greatly reduces body roll during hard cornering.

Look at the power steering tank. If it's divided in half and the second cap has a pic of a car with 2 arrows, you have ACE. ACE (Active Corner Enhancement) will let you take on and off ramps at high speeds; it keeps the truck level during turns.
