Ah... there's that miss
I had occasion to finally replace the plugs and wires on my daughter's truck this morning with new Magnecor wires & Bosch plugs. It's always had a very slight miss at idle, one that was barely noticable, but there none the less.
The culprit was the #6 plug wire. It was cooked to the brittleness of hard plastic. the plug boot disintegrated as I tried to pull it off. The inside of the connector was filled with rusty powder - all that was left of the connector plug. The coil pack end brass was corroded green. I'd post a pic but I can't find my dig camera at the moment. Sufice to say, this wire is probably an original wire; it's toast. Similarly, anyone who thinks that chain store wires will hold up are fooling themselves. |
wow thats wild. I just go mine replaced this past thursday and man what a difference! I hope that switch out goes well, like I said it has made quite a difference in my car. I feel like it is a new Discovery!
