alarm keeps going off

The truck is acting really weird.
Alarm keeps going off without even locking the truck.
Also the light on the key started to blink rapidly.
Any ideas? Neighbors are not happy!!!

Try taking the battery out of your remote and see if that helps. On mine the unlock button on the remote was stuck on somehow causing my truck to keep unlocking and lights coming on. The LED on the remote lights to show a signal is being sent.

Had exactly the same on my 2000 V8 HSE about 14 years ago whilst on holiday in France. Sometimes it's an LR computer glitch and sometimes local EMF or mobile phone signal interference, usually your own phone in the truck. Disconnect the battery for 30 minutes minimum or alternatively get a good quality code reader and find the system problem codes.

Even my TD5 still occasionally acts up so I turn off the phone, get out and lock up the truck, wait 3 minutes then open it again and bingo all's well and ready to go. The worst areas seem to be outside X-ray suites in hospitals which are well known for screwing up remote systems due to heavy EMF.

PS wtf is god by the way? Another mythical figure I assume.

My hood switch got boogered once and cause the alarm to go off randomly. Apparently the truck thought it was being stolen. If memory serves it is on the driver side you might just punch it to make sure it is operating smoothly.

My neighbors already hate me because I have a rover that is constantly being repaired. Haha. I don't care what they think.

wow!
thanks for the replies, for some reason my phone wasn't getting notifications .
Disconnected the battery that night and just reconnected, will try today how does it work.
looking on eBay for another key, anything in particular that we need to look for? Is it just as simple as getting a key and going to a locksmith?

This are just the cases. A trick. New keys with electronics in them are over a hundred.

A locksmith can make the key. But I haven't found one that can program the remote. The programming is done from the truck end with a computer. If I'm wrong about that I'd love to know it. I haven't had a remote key for years.

Honestly we don't even use the "remote key" as it self, just lock and unlock manually.
Now, our keys don't have a chip? ( inside that connects of to the computer of the truck to get it started?)
