Anyone have an iland they'd be prepared to rent in the Bay Area

My 18 year old son just bought a 2003 Discovery 2 from a towing company and needless to say it didn't come with its transponder key, we have to have a transponder coded and understand the iland system from Atlantic Britsh will do that, we don't want to spend any significant money on the car as we don't know if it will have a good motor or not.
If any members have a system we'd be happy to rent it, we've tried to start it without the imobilliser but to no avail

Thanks, we are based in Pleasanton

You don't need a transponder to start the vehicle.

In fact you don't even need a key.

Remove the steering wheel shroud. Find the back of the ignition stumbler and remove/loosen 2 eyeglass size screws at the black electrical connector. Remove said connector, insert screwdriver in key way and turn to start the vehicle.

Start up

My son bought a key that works, the engine tries to fire but stops, we were told that the immobilizer kills the spark and the fuel pump, is that not true?

I have Hawkeye total we can use together if you are interested and it will program a key.

Yes that would be great, are you in the Bay Area? As you can imagine we can't drive it anywhere, hahahaha

Sorry, I’ve never actually dealt with a Immobilized vehicle as I have the diagnostic tool to handle it before hand.

if you can close the door, lock the vehicle and unlock it with no alarm sounding I would guess it’s not Immobilized.

but, reading codes would reveal if it was.
