Anything i should do before starting a newly installed 4.6?

make sure the ground strap is bolted onto the drivers side head in the back of the engine. I just did a head gasket job and forgot to put that on before putting the heads on. There is less then an inch gap there. I had to ground the engine to the intake manifold instead.

So it will learn the characteristics of the new engine as a 4.0 or learn that it is a 4.6 and perform as such? If so, I can wait the 500 miles rather than taking it somewhere to reprogram, as I don't have a Rover specialist anywhere close.

It will re-learn as a 4.0.

OK thanks, a running motor is the first priority now anyway
