Default Aux input. Would this not work for cheap?

I'm looking to disconnect me CD changer and use my Android that's car mounted for streaming audio. I've seen the Grom & other units. I don't care about steering wheel controls or ipod specific features. I saw a few pin outs for the changer harness on the D2's. I have a 99 & 01 D2. I'm pretty sure they both have the 8pin harness for the changer. Looks like you need a ground, left and right signal from the pins on the back. I'll double check tonight on mine being a 8 pin and not a 10 pin. With that said, why wouldn't this $15 harness not work?

sweet! exactly what i've been looking for. I was going to solder a line in on my head unit but I wasn't looking forward to pulling it out of the dash since I do not have the tool.

I just got a tape-to-line-in adapter - goes in the tape deck, has a cord that plugs into whatever you want it to. only 10 bucks, and I use my iphone to plug into it. works like a cheap hands-free device, I can listen to my music as well, and I retain my cd-changer. I've got the tape thing for now. Wanted something to run behind the dash to hide the clutter and better sound. $10 is good for that. Those seem to be pricey lately. I just ordered 2 of the ebay adapters. We'll see!

I just got the 2 I ordered. No go for the 99' d2. The blue plug is correct but when I press the CD button, nothing happens. I also tried plugging the blue harness with the yellow and green plugs. Same result.

Any ideas?

Here's a start. My pins on the harness I ordered connect Pins 19, 18, 20. According to the links below, those would be incorrect. Maybe the blue harness plug needs the pins moved to 13, 14, 15 (exact opposite).

hmm ok I give up...where does this plug in? I was assuming under the passenger seat but I do not see a plug the same size.

from the ebay ad: "Placement on Vehicle: Front" ....that helps a lot
