Belt tensioner

Simple question is there any way to test it ? I am have a concern that it may be getting worn.

I replaced my belt tensioner on my V8 since it had a cracked plastic pulley and not a metal pulley.

Unless you have an Acura, skip forward to about 8:20 in the video. It is a great method for testing the tensioner but cranking the mounting bolts in a vice doesn't seem like the best idea to me so perhaps substituting some spare bolts is a safer way to do it.

If you plan on replacing the tensioner it's also a good idea to replace the 2 idler pulleys ( 70mm and 80mm ) at the same time.
A few places sell this as a "kit", but just search the part numbers for the best prices.
