Are you wanting another FOB or just a key?
You can get a key blank at pretty much any place that sells keys, then you need to have it cut.

1994 2004 Land Rover Discovery Key Blank Pair Free Shipping | eBay

I bought these blanks from this eBay seller and took them to a locksmith and had them cut. Its actually the key I use everyday.

IF you order new key/fob be aware the blank is steel. Not all locksmiths will work on these. New fobs come with a bar code. If you don't have it, follow the thread below. I paid about 140 for LR key/fob.

The top link is a spreadsheet found in second link that allows you to take the inner key code (6 digit alphanumeric) and converts to the bar code. I purchased a new fob/key from BP of Utah and used the inner code to confirm the spreadsheet bar code. Perfect match. From the thread you'll see that Hawkeye can program from bar code, ditto with Advanced Diagnostics machine. Nanocom uses the inner key code.

I bought THIS FLIP KEY and had it cut. Moved the Electronics from my original to this key, and now I have the Original as my Spare in my Safe.

Be sure you have a Qualified Key Cutter do the Cutting. It's a bit tricky on this Flip Key, but a good cutter can do it no problem. NO WALMART cutting...

I like that idea. Both of my key fobs have decided to lose the buttons for the lock/unlock. Used them one day, then they just disappeared. Looks like a nice option to upgrade the fob.

If your electronics are bad, this won't help. You transfer the circuit board from your original key to the new key and housing. If you mean your buttons physically disappeared, then this will work.

PS: moving the internal parts is easy. There's a thread on here somewhere that shows the process.

Here's the link to the on-line form to generate key codes:

Ilco RV4, for under $10 you can have 3 keys cut, you have to go to your local hardware store, the big box stores wont carry that brand, all they carry are Curtis keys.
Farm tractor supply stores also carry the Ilco brand.

maybe just here in the promised land, but I recently had 3 keys cut at lowes. they work great. I think it was $7, but I get a 15% discount:) so I had enough for lunch.
