BFG All Terrain ..... Load range E
Hey everyone. I have calling around to get prices for my new set of tires and have been looking to get the BFG All Terrain K/O. However, every place I've called said that they are a Load Range E, 10-ply tire that will have an incredibly harsh ride. Has BFG changed the all-terrain since years past, or is this the tire that you guys have been using? If that is the case is there any other recommendations for tires. Thanks alot.

RE: BFG All Terrain ..... Load range E
Wouldn't that have more negative effects on the tire? A load range of E would prefer to run at 80 psi correct? Airing down for everyday use that much, wouldn't heat dissapation be affected, and tread life decreased...etc?
And any way you cut it, 10 ply is pretty tough..That's gunna be a much harsher ride than a standard P-metric tire (stand load rating with 35 psi is 6 ply). Not saying it's going to be too rough to enjoy, but it's gunna be pretty firm.

RE: BFG All Terrain ..... Load range E
I have 245/75/16 BFG/AT 10 ply tires load range E (80psi)
I just last monthreplaced my old tires I had the same tires
BFG's AT 245/75/16 E's I did notice that at first the tires did not ride as well as the old ones but after a 1000 miles or so they are the same.
I have a ARB bumper and winch and run 35-38 psi frt and 42-45 psi rear on road.
The load rating is on max psi so a E=80psi and one tire can support 3042 lbs a load range D=65psi tire will support 2535lbs,,a load range C=50psi tire will support 1875lbs per tire.
This is a cross section on tires as the size changes the loadlbs changes.
A lower load range tire will ride better if you can get it in your size.
The 245/57/16 BFG AT only comes in a load range E so I
had no choice,,and almost all tires in that size is a E.
