Black carpet with tan seats?
 

I have a silly question. My 2004 Discovery has black carpet and tan seats. Was this a factory color configuration, or did the PO replace the carpet at some point? All the carpet on the floors and central tunnel is black, as well as the backs of the middle seats and the storage bins in the rear. But I haven't seen any pictures of other Discoveries with this color combination. It's really nice because I don't have to worry about the seats getting too hot in our Florida sun, and the carpets are easy to keep looking clean. I'm looking for jump seats to add, but I'm not sure what color to get because they all seem to either be black or tan.

This color combination was available on the 03 and 04 discovery. Alpaca tan seats with black piping and black carpets.

Interesting, zski. To add some complication, my seats don't have any piping. I guess this might just be because they're vinyl, and not real leather?

S models came with vinyl interiors in 2003 & 2004 in the same colors as the leather interiors except the piping on the beige vinyl matched the rest of the seat squab..

As well as the usual lack of frills associated with a base model: No sunroofs, plastic side moulding, wood trim, fog lights, painted bumper end caps, hitch receiver, backup assist, navigation, SLS, heated seats, windows, and mirrors, etc.

There are many examples of base models with option packages like the Cold Climate Package which added the heated bits. Also there have been dealer added single sunroofs in base models.

Your milege may vary but sounds like you got an S model, which I also have and like quite a lot. There are benefits to fewer extra systems and holes in the roof.

I have same color combo. Yes agree it’s nice for the Florida sun! I retro fitted third row seats a few years ago that match the interior. Seats were easy to find but took some time to find the interior side panels with the seatbelt cutouts.

Where are you located @mendenhall2 ? I have the same color combo as you; and I'm interested in swapping my rear jump seats for the cargo bins. I'm in Richmond VA, and would be willing to meet up to swap if you are close by.
