Block Is Toast

So when I started out on this Land Rover adventure, I felt I knew that parts would be slightly more expensive than the average 14 yr old SUV, and in some cases harder to get. What I have l learned is the parts are easy to get but cost three times more and finding someone to install them, who wont run away screaming like his head was on fire at the mention of Land Rover, is whats proven to be most difficult.
Case in point. I cannot find anyone in my local town of a quarter of a million people who is willing to put in the cylinder liners I sourced for my block last week. Seems they only want the gravy jobs they can push out quickly. I say at a basic hourly rate, who cares if it takes one man, 8 hrs. he's working 8 hrs anyway.
Anyway, after expanding my search area radius by 100 miles. I found two shops.
Shop #1 quoted $1200 for the liners and an additional $400 to align hone the crank journals. Shop #2 stated $1300 for the liners and honing.
No doubt these were WAGs on the price and the bill will be twice that once all the work is complete. That still leaves pistons and rings at $600, main and rod bearing, plus and complete gasket set to reassemble it all.
UGHHHHH!!!!! Sorry, just had to vent. I'll have to take it in nibbles vs big bites, and get it done over the next 6 months or so. In the end, hopefully I'll have an engine that'll make it to MOAB and back......maybe. LANDY LIFE!!!!!

q&e uses their own sleeves, by LA sleeves. Don’t think you’ll be able to use your dartons app with them. I’d personally recommend going with whoever has more experience putting top hats into this Rover... which is probably going to be Q&E
