Bloody Hell!!!!

Stupid front driveshaft broke at the axle.

I stopped in time before it did any damage to anything else.

I love this truck but dam it sucks relying on a rover some times.

Its going to an after market shop this time.

Was it already replaced at some point? With what?

FlyingZebra34 12-19-2013 02:49 PM

It was rebuilt a week ago. I disassembled it, and put the u joints in. A shop removed and installed the center ball an balanced it. I was having issues greasing it and "tapping" with a hammer was recommended to get grease flowing throughout the driveshaft.

Got it greased and installed. Didn't even last 24 hours. FML.

Turns out it wasn't plugged in. Had to call tech support in India.

Damn... well at least it came apart at the axle side!

He got lucky that it didn't jam back into the tcase and shatter it.

yikes. that does suck.

so I am guessing, and it may be a stretch here, that my decision to get mine professionally rebuilt last month was a good one?

Lucky7 ... 250
british parts of utah ... nice looking one $350

good news is those bolts that hold it in should be easier to loosen now

primussucks 12-19-2013 05:33 PM

$300 or so + phone call to Tom Woods = never worry about it again (with proper greasing of course)
