Blower Motor Stopped Working, Started Working, then Stopped Working?
 

The Blower Motor on my 1999 Disco 2 is not working on any speed. However this happened before and without me doing anything it started working again as if it were new. This time it has not started back up. Is this most likely a switch, resistor or the motor itself.

There are several threads about this but mine turned out to be the fuse block. Check to see if your getting power to the motor.

Generally the resistor or a relay. As was said above, verify no power to the blower the rule it out. If you've experienced any issues with the bolower not changing speeds then it's almost certainly the final stage resistor.

Update:
Checked fuses = ok
Two relays = okay
11.7 Volts going into motor at connection

Questions:
Can the resistor pack - power resistor A/C be part of the problem?
Can i hook the blower directly to the battery w/out burning it up? If so which wire is my hot going into the motor blue or red?
Any suggestions?

Still sounds like the same problem I had. There is a thread on here about takin the fuse block on the drivers side out and run a new wire. When I did mine I just ran a fused link from the battery to the relay, it works but it's not the correct way to do it. Just research on here. It's been awhile back for me so I can't remember exactly. Hope this helps

Im getting 11.7V to the motor just fine so i dont think its the fuse block???

Ok. But it's a 12v motor

Yeah, the motor's kaput. Still no harm in connecting it to the battery just to be sure. 11.7 is fine, if anything ever sees 12v exactly it's a fluke. Voltage is more like 14.7 with the car running and around 12 pulling off the battery only. Plus, voltage to the blower motor is going to vary.

Can I hook the blower motor directly to the battery or is there something else i need to do?
