Impressed with factory traction control
Ive had my disco for nearly a year now and had the 4 amigos since the beginning. I've taken it on several adventures but avoided mud to for fear of getting stuck. Even on dry rocks I found the limitations of open axles without the TC, but was still able to go pretty much anywhere I wanted if there was no mud.
So, last week I finally had more than one reason to pay the local land rover tech for an hour of labor (despite the 5 minutes max he spent on it) and had him read my abs codes. $18 later I have a new abs sensor and working ABS/TC.
Yesterday I went out and tried to get stuck....i couldn't. Even when my AT's were completely caked with mud I was able to drive right through every mud pit.
The only thing that hung me up was a narrow, steep culvert with mud at the bottom. With the rear tires sitting in the mud pit and no weight on the fronts I was stuck, but backing out was no issue. I didnt have the articulation to come at it from and angle but new shocks are on the way so I'll be going back to tackle that one lol.
Bottom line, I'm very impressed with TC and mild all terrains. For an overlanding rig Im gonna have a hard time justifying lockers.

My daughter crossed a stream today and the D2 seemed squirrely for the first 3 secs, then everything seemed to work OK. She got somewhat sideways in those 3 secs as if she was drifting.
The TC was more impressive later when she climbed an all-mud hill at maybe a 40 degree slope up, then a level plateau on top that would have high-centered lesser off-road vehicles.
