Brake & lug nut question

So, I'm using my day off to change brake pads... I've been hearing the brakes squeal every once in a while, so I ordered the ceramic brake pads front/back. I start with the front and they look fine. A ton of life left on them. Should I go ahead change them out? I wouldn't think so. To be honest, I can't remember when my wife had the brakes changed out, but we did do new rotors and pads.

So, I go to do the rear brakes, and the damn lug nuts are bigger than the ones on the front wheels! This isn't normal, is it? I'm using the stock lug nut wrench... worked perfect on my front wheels, but it won't fit on the lug nuts on the back. Do I need to order a new set of lug nuts? Or just chalk it up and go buy a bigger lug nut wrench/tool?

I believe they should be 27mm but if someone has used an impact gun on the you may need to use 1-1/8 or 1-1/16 inch socket.
do any of the lug nut have a dimple in the center if so they are ment for the spare only.

As to the replacement question, who's pads did you order and how many miles are on your rotors? Make sure you do a 2 quart DOT 4 brake flush when you are done and use lots of sound deadening material on the backs of the pads before installing them.

Mike, I got the Akebono ceramic pads to do the replacement. I'm not sure of the mileage on the rotors, but there is a lot of life left in them, as with the front pads. I've never done a brake fluid flush before, and honestly don't trust myself to try it. Let alone the tools to do it. The noise reduction stuff came with the pads.

Dr, no dimples on the lug nuts, so that's not the case. Guess I'm going to have to go get a larger lug nut wrench to take them off.

Good brake pads. When you get ready, lets talk and I will walk you thru the simple process of brake flushing/bleeding.
