Default Bright tail lamp ?!?!

Hi there-

Recently my rear left brake light burned out.

I replaced the bulb and now the light is on bright (as if the brake was being pressed when it's not). To verify I didn't use the wrong bulb, I took the bulb from the right brake light... and it illuminates bright as well when put into the left one.

Does anyone have any thought as to why it brightens like the brakes are being pressed?

Thanks!

Is your rear fog light button depressed?

I've tried it with the rear fogs on and off. No difference.

if its a dual filliment bulb it could be in backwards, the pegs on the sides are different hights to prevent it going in wrong, but sometimes you can work it in there backwards.
