Default Broken cat baffle

Hi Lad's,
Well, I knew this would be an issue sooner or later. As I was sitting at a Tim Hortons drivethrough yesterday,I noticed a rattling noise from the front lower area of my truck.Thinking the worst,I figured it was a crank bearing, but opon closer inspection and doing a "tap and wiggle test",I discovered the left cat was rattling. My truck is an 01' with 42,000 kilometers on the clock. Is this something that is still covered by the Land Rover emission warranty or will I have to shovel out 2k for a whole new "y" pipe and cat's? Any advice would be super. What do ya thing Mike??

your emissions equipment is covered for 8 years or 80K miles. You should be covered.

Even if you weren't, Magnaflow makes high flow cats that will fit. I paid $325 to replace both. That was installed.

Since you are stating your mileage in Kilometers, I am assuming you are not in the states, so read the thin manual that describes your emission warranties, here in the states we do have coverage on them.

Heres the deal. Went over to the dealer this morning to have the Service Manager confirm the problem and for me to sign the workorder so the part could be ordered. The complete "y" pipe and cat replacement is under Land Rover's emission warranty, which here in Canada is 8yr's or 130,000km's.Whew!!

When it dances to the tune of $2500...you betcha! Actually,Land Rover Ottawa andLand Rover Canadahave been pretty good to me in the past,so I really have no complaints in that regard.
