A/C Condenser fan
 

I have a 04 D2 with 75k on it. I think that my A/C condenser fan is shot. I know they should come on at 212 or when the AC is on. When the rover is not on, should the fan spin freely? If is supposed to spin freely and does not, I take itm that it is toast? Yes I checked the fuse.:cool:

Fuse blows when amps increase to protect truck from melted wires causing a fire. Electric motor with siezed or almost siezed bearings draws a lot more current than normal. There have been write ups on the replacement electric motor, I think it is well under $100. But you are also close to Paul Grant, who may be a source as well of a used one. On a D2, the electric fan comes on as you state, except that for AC use it only comes on when needed, in a D1 AC on = fans on.

The motor seized from age and drew to many amps and blew the fuse.
Buy a new or used fan, the DII a/c fans are cheap compared to a DI fan, check junk yards and e-bay.

Savannah- Thanks for the line on Paul Grant. You were right, he is not far away from me at all.Regrettably, he does not have a fan.

If you do a bunch of searches you can dig up some old threads where someone cross referenced the part number of the MOTOR (only) to some hyundai or kia part? I forget.. but anyways it was used on like all of their cars, I believe as their radiator motor (lol) but you simply remove a snap ring and stick the fan blades on the new motor and you're done! I believe the wires are also reversed since it was used as a puller fan. The stupid thing was like $40-50 from Advance Autoparts.

Yes do a search through some of the old posts. There was a write up on which motor models are compatible with our trucks. I just replaced my condensor fan this weekend and the AC Delco 1580341 was the recommended motor. I got it through amazon for $74 new.
