Default Change t/case and diffs fluid and jacking up rear of Discovery II 2000

Okay, just to confirm, the t/case and both diffs take the same fluid...Correct? I read in another thread it is recommended put 85w/140 for all three. Does that sound right? Also, how many quarts should I buy to change all three?

what do you guys thinks about using Lucas high performance heavy duty gear oil, SAE 85w-140 for all three? I can buy it at Auto Zone for $7.99 per qt.

here is the link: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/accessories/Lucas-Oil-1-qt-85W-140-high-performance-heavy-duty-gear-oil/_/N-25t1?counter=2&filterByKeyWord=Lucas+Oil&fromStrin g=search&fromWhere=Brand&itemIdentifier=693859_0_0 _[/URL]

Finally, is it okay to jack up the rear of my 2000 discovery II by going under the rear differential/pumpkin?

thanks!

yes, 7 quarts, from factory it came with synthetic 75W/90; Use 85W/140 for HD (towing, extreme off-roading, etc.)

I like Lucas products, is it synthetic?

Yes, though I would use jack stands under the axles before I crawled underneath.

Make sure you remove the fill plugs before draining the diffs/t-case.

Mwidth--It is not synthetic. On some other threads I learned not to used synthetics for the t-case and the diffs. you agree?

I'm not sure...Maybe the recommendation was not to use synthetic for the tranny?

mwindth, I don't really tow that lot nor do I do heavy 4wding. Should I then use the synthetic 75w/90? If so, what brand to you normally use? If it matters, this is my everyday car. I have 141,000 miles.
