I've got a set with about 300 miles on it I'll sell you for $25.

Get the 180 degree TD5 thermostat while you are in the engine bay (easy fix, and if you have the waterfall effect you need to bleed the air out of the cooling system anyway).

There is a reason your head gasket fails, usually its a combination of the poor original head gasket design coupled with a failing cooling system. I bet your thermostat is corroded (just like mine was). The TD5 thermostat is $50 buck and could save you another $2k repair.

Also, if your driveshaft replacement wasn't serviceable/greasable, you'll need to replace it in another 100k miles or it will explode again (although judging by you calling the D2 "baggage", I doubt you'll keep her that long!)

It will be much cheaper in the long run to dump the wife now and just keep the D2. . Just sayin.
