Check engine light
Hi folks you have all seen this question before,
I have trawled the forums trying to find a solution, No joy. So I will be as concise as possible. ECL comes on shortly after statup, it stays on until I give it a rev, or when driving, I back off the throttle, it stays off for about the same amount of time as it took to come on at startup then comes on again.about 10 seconds
Short history: head casket was blown due to lack of water has been replaced head was planed and checked new seals etc. Also replaced cam belt while it was off the road. its done 198Ks and is a TDI 300 1995 Discovery. There is no display under any of the seats and I have looked in the area where the fuses are and had the glovebox out. I admit to being a bit blind but I cant find anything with a display on it. Am I missing something
Cheers and thanks in advance

DI's dont have the display under the dash.
You will need to get the codes read and because it is only OBDI you need to find a shop that can read OBDI.
Look under the hood for a LED, it might be covered, your owners manual should tell you where it is IF you have one.
IF you do the LED will flash a sequence and then you write that down and then pull out your decoder ring and figure it out.
Once we know the code then we can better help you.
We dont have diesels here in the U.S. but we will still try and help.
