Default choke cleaning

97 discos come with auto chokes, and i am havinig problems with cold starts, initial idle, and need to clean it. cant find a diagram, and don't know where it is.

I'm not sure about the auto choke, as the Land Rover Engines are EFI and not carbs, are you sure it's not the idle air bypass, needs to be cleaned or replaced

I agree, you have no choke. First thing to do would be to remove the air intake tube from the throttle body, and use some carb spray and a wrag to clean out all the built up carbon on both sides of the throttle plate. Next thing to do is have someone clean your IAC motor, idle control unit.
Between these two items you should be set.
