Clicking noise under the dash
Hello all
Got a question about a strange clicking noise under the dash when my 2004 discovery is started. When I start it it clicks about 5 to 10 seconds and stops. What can this be??? |
Where is the sound coming from? Left, right, under steering column?
|
Sounds to me like it is coming from under the steering column. Sounds like some sort of vacuum leak that has to build up pressure ..pop a..pop a..pop a..pop a...than then quits
|
Without hearing it, total guess, but how about blend doors? Kinda sticking?
|
Theres that little temp sensor fan behind the little slats to the left of the steering column. It was all clogged up on my 2004 when we first got it and caused a clicking noise.

I bet I know.
The brake pedal switch is going bad. The brake pedal switch is a compound switch that operates the solenoid that keeps your gear shift locked in Park until the brake is pressed. If you are lightly resting your foot on the brake pedal that could do it. Or the switch is going bad. The noise is really from the console area? correct? A clicking.. |
I think the blend doors might be it. There was a time this winter when the engine was warm and was still blowing cold air. I cranked the temp control to low and then moved it up to high and the heat worked again. How is this fixed .
