Clunking noise in park and neutral

if the problem is the torgue converter can that damage the vehcle

my clunking seems to stop when I put the brake on and push on the gas .

correction sorry . the clunking seems to stop when I put the car in gear , the brake on and push on the gas .

if the problem is the torque converter disk , can that cause damage if driven

Hi guys, just to follow up, it was my flex plate. Bought one from AB for $60.00 and put it in. the old one was cracked all to hell in the centre. Truck now runs butter smooth.
