Default Coolant Leak Disco 2 continued

So the coolant leak is from the back of the head gasket. I had
the top of the intake plennum removed and pressurized the coolant
no leaks from the inlet manifold gasket. The head gasket was
seeping coolant at the back and oil at the front of the engine.

So while they are in there, what else to do? Truck has less than
60,000 miles. Heads will be skimmed and anything they need
replaced before assembly. Looking to get at least another 60,000
miles out of it. Any parts that should be done given the labour?

Geta valve job done and resurface the heads. When I did mine I was surprised when the machine shop showed me a bent exhaust valve. Should be around $300. Other then that replaceas manygaskets with the kit. Have fun.

As long as they willhave the access, and to avoid overlapping labor charges now --- I would recommend you replace the water pump, serpentine belt, throttle body heater plate, and have them carefully check the serpentine belt tensioner and the pulley, as these are common failure items at about that mileage. I have all the parts required, including the most complete head gasket kit-- for the money-- available on the site at www.eurotekapg.com

Really makes me wonder.....Had the intake gasket job donea week ago by the dealer. Had the coolant leaking at the back , and what seemed to be oil at the front. The dealer assured me that the intake gasket was the culprit. And the job was done.

Dove under the disco the other day to deal with my SLS pump. Since I wasunder the Disco, and on my crawler, I decided to slide under the engine jusfor the heck of it. I had wiped the whole underneeth of the engine when I got home the day I had picked it up from the dealer after the gasket job.Found afew drops of oilhanging again!!!!!!Told the dealer about that when I brought the Disco back for the SLS pump. They said it was most likely oil that hadn't have time to make it to the bottom of the engine frombefore the gasket job.

Sure hope they're right for I had specifically asked about the possibility that part of the leak could come from the head gasket. They said that head gasket leaks were not common, especially on a 54000 miles engine.
