coolant leak(heater core?)

https://landroverforums.com/forum/me...-se7-3643t.jpgI have what appears to be coolant leaking near the firewall on the passenger side, appears to be coming from under the heat shield for the exhaust, is there a line up there or does this have something to do with the heater core, it was replaced before i got the Rover. Any tips on how to stop? Really hoping i don't have to pull the dash out!

Hopefully not the heater core, but instead one of the other myriad of connectors. See attached cooling layout for D2. Coolant flows at all time thru heater core and thru the throttle body heater.

Or could be valley pan gasket or head gasket external leak. HGs like to leak at the rear as there is not a lot of "meat" in the gasket at that point.

are you sure its not the head gaskets very common. the heater core is inside the vehicle you would have a leak inside the vehicle.

Here's a pix of an HG, that vertical slot is the water channel, it does not take much to leak out the back.

The head job was done not to long ago by the previous owner at the local rover shop. No coolant visible inside from heater core, which is also new, hose's going into firewall have no leakage.
