Very nice pictures!! Please do post this to the TX rovers site. I am really trying to get at least one extra vehicle to come with us since there is no cell service and if you get stuck you could be there awhile before anyone else comes that far down the beach.

I am thinking of moving the meet to a weekday instead of the weekend when there will be even less people out fishing. What you do think about that idea? Do you think more people will be able to go if I kept it on the weekend?

I would prefer a weekend as work (IT) keeps me busy during the week.

I have no clue on how to salt water fish, but this can always be a learning experience!

Good deal. If even just 2 rovers show up I think we can still call it a success for the first year. Where in Texas are you? Do you have any Saltwater fishing experience? I've been reading up and asking anyone that knows anything about it.

I found this bait launcher that I might make to get the shark bait way out past the sandbar with out getting wet or kayaking it out. All it is, is a air tank with a release valve that you charge up with a portable compressor before each launch. They make these molds and you hook your bait up and put it in the mold and fill the mold with water or chum and freeze it. Once frozen, you have a bait bullet that you load in the air cannon and launch 300yrds off shore.

My brother and I used to make potato guns that look just like this. If someone brings a baseball glove we can have a long range potato catch game.

I"m located in Dallas. I used to go surf fishing in the east coast by Assateague Island Assateague Island National Seashore (U.S. National Park Service) on the Maryland Virginia coast. Back then we didnt have have any air canon just surf rods.

A sat phone would be great for an emergency. Times must be changing, I thought only CEO's and James Bond carried those things. Will you be flying in on your chopper also?:D

nonsense he will dock his mega yacht on the sand.

we are still on for this right?
i have acquired all necessary camping gear(still refining the list) and the lad rover has been street/mud tested. ill need new tires and a lift but that should be done here shortly.

it came with 265/65/16 and i might stick with these or do 7.5r16 tires

here it is loaded with gear, the rear driver tire bottomed out a few times but that was my fault as i had put too much weight on that side.

Most after market racks support up to 600lbs distributed weight. At least the ones where the mounts are over the pillars which appears yours is. If you look at some of the camel trophy rigs you will see they packem heavy.

Yelp that's next on my list to do. No one ever rides back there anyway with me...no room anyhow since I extended my seat back 3".
