Crankshaft p sensor?

Ok,i am trying to replace the crankshaft sensor on my disco. I got the cover off and the sensor pulled out BUT my forearms/hands are too thick to reach in and disconnect the connector. Is their an easier way to get to it or do i need to get a friend with skinny arms to try and disconnect it? Just thought id ask on here before i ask someone to come over and help. Thank you in advance

You need a helper monkey, or maybe something to pry it off with.

A long flathead screwdriver to hit the release while you tug on the part of the wire you can reach (the engine harness side should be attached to a bracket).

To put it back on, you tape the new ckps plug to the same screwdriver, leaving a long piece of your tape hanging down where you can reach it. Plug it in, and unwind the tape from the tail you left.

Job over.

Where is the crankshaft sensor located anyways? I can't seem to find it.

This is the right side of the motor, as viewed from the front with the plugs out and exhaust manifold off. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic. It's still a better view of it than what you'd get with a motor in the truck :)

The best way to describe its location...looking at the engine from the front, 3 o'clock on the back of the block.

Found it! crankshaft sensor swamped out with the new and the truck started right up! Thanks for everyone in this thread and other CPS thread for the information!
