DBA Brake Rotors which kind?

Getting ready to buy some DBA brake rotors for my 04 Disco. Can't decide between the DBA Gold Series and the DBA 4000 series.
Opinions?

I can't speak on the 4000's, but having run the Gold Series for over 10 years and 100,000 miles, I have no reason to change and when I do, I will go for another set of Golds.
By the way, the pads you use makes a lot of difference, I run Akebono Ceramics, synthetic DOT 4 and stainless lines to deal with the heat generated from the extra stopping power of these rotors.

Yup, after doing some research I've been leaning towards the golds and that is probably going to be the way I go. Any opinion on EBC green stuff pads? Stainless lines will be going on as well.

Thanks for the reccomendation Mike, I went with the Akebono pads with the DBA rotors.

Make sure when you replace the brake lines you use a good synthetic brake fluid to handle the extra heat. Castrol makes one of the best for your trucks, Pep Boys among others have it.

Where did you source your pads and DBA rotors?
thx...

I send most people to Expedition Exchange for the rotors if you can not find the correct on with a Google search.
s for the pads, Amazon or E-bay for the Pads, using EUR 676's for the front and EUR 493's for the rear.

I bought my pads and rotors off of Ebay.

Just curious, what did you oay per rotor and brake set?

ZB-30 Sep 29, 2012 09:00 AM

Well I'm sure I probably could have found them cheaper if I had looked around more, but I was ready to buy so I went for it.

The front AKebono 676 pads cost me $72
The rear Akebono 493 pads cost me $56
The front DBA rotors were $230
The rear DBA rotors were $280
