DII Engine mount removal

Hi All,
I am trying to pin my sleeves, using the post I now can't find on here, And it says you can do it without removing the motor. I have the oil pan off, the exhaust manifold, heat shield and all the bolts off the mount on the drivers side. I see no way to get the mount out. How do I remove it so I can drill the holes and put the pins in? I did search here but could not find an answer anywhere. it is a 2003 DII
Thank you,
Eric

You have to lift the engine, until the motor mount studs clear the frame bracket...and then wiggle them out.

So you have to do both side at once I assume. Will the trans move enough or do I have to unbolt something there too?

the rave manual says to do each side separately (pp. 12-2-22 to 12-2-23).

I removed the nuts on the frame side of the engine mount, as well as on the engine side. Then lifted the engine enough to wiggle the mounts out. Using a jack stand with wooden blocks, I supported the whole affair at the bell housing. This left both sides of the engine free and open.

Not sure how you'd use a jack stand, but I used a floor jack and a short 2x6 to jack up the engine after removing all four nuts. I put the jack with the 2x6 under the oil pan. A bottle jack would work too.

This is the method I have been trying. I have the truck on jack stands so that the front wheels are about an inch off the ground and my jack is to short with the piece of wood I have to lift it enough. I also have an issue with the front end being in the way of where I need to put the wood. I might need a different piece of wood. I don’t own a engine lift. My friend has one but it is the issue of getting it to my house. I will get this project done somehow! Thank you all for your help. I would never get this done without it.

Try just leaving the wheels on the ground. The only thing that needs to be jacked up is the engine.

If I don’t allow the suspension to hang I don’t have enough room to get the drill up in there to drill and tap the block.

Get a few more pieces of wood and lift it at the bell housing.

Brian.
