Disabling Rear SLS
Hello everyone. I finally have time to work on the D2 again so I am tackling something I have wanted in a 4WD for a long time. I am installing an air compressor and tank from Viair. My D2 has a 2" lift and had rear SLS so no more air bags. However, everything else is still there (height sensors, air lines, air compressor). I want to put in my new air compressor where the SLS one lives right now, but I removed it and now there is an air suspension fault (obviously). I could live with the light on the dash, but it constantly beeps when you go over 20mph.
Any way that I can disable this? Maybe clip specific wires for SLS going to the SLABS or do I have to get it reprogrammed? Could I replace the SLABS with one from a non SLS truck and have it work? Would be a good excuse to get an 04 SLABS as I have added a CDL. If none of those would work, I do have to get it reprogrammed right? Thanks in advance. Edit: I also think that the air compressor might be killing my batteries. Truck had a year old battery when I bought it and PO said it was on its way out. I replaced it because it died a week later and now that battery died two weeks ago. |
The SLABS needs to be reprogrammed when you switch to coils. That will get rid of the errors and then you can just unplug/remove everything.

Looks like a pretty definitive answer. Alright then, I'll take it to my indy mechanic for reprogramming. Thanks everyone

Reprograming or another SLABS with SLS disabled. Then remove the SLS relay.
