Disco 2 and gas prices Canada

Just saw on the news second record breaking weekend in Vancouver for gas prices $1.72 a litre for 87 regular
ouch feel sorry for your daily drivers

Thanks for your condolences. I topped up my tank last night in North Vancouver. The bill came to $154. I live 125 km outside of Vancouver where gas is slightly cheaper. But the current prices everywhere in BC is indeed insane.

It’s around 1.29 here in southern Ontario.

But don't they have cheaper or free health services up there? I know people in South Carolina are complaining about their vehicle tax bill but they have cheap gas and lower overall taxes which they brag about.. Seems to works itself out somewhere near even.

we have free health care. Surgeries etc but you still have to pay for medications if you don’t have benefits
dental if you don’t have benefits your screwed
and it takes them years to find out what’s wrong with you if you have a illness
wait times are crazy
my wife has pulmonary hypertension it took them 7 years to find out why her chest hurts and she was out of breath

everything is more expensive
property tax a year 3-6 k average
car insurance $200 a month average
house insurance $1100 a year average
natural gas in winter $120 a month avg
eletrical $130 a month avg
water bill $80 a month avg
car gas 87 is almost always around $1.00 to $1.20 a litre
if you make say 80 k a year your paying over 40 % tax on that
our transit system sucks and expensive
alcohol is expensive 40 - 60 bucks for a 24

I lived in Vancouver for 5 years during college. Alcohol prices were the worst of it.... and only available from licensed stores... not healthy for a student

I found the dental / health system to be strange. It felt like all the doctors were really green and had no idea what they were doing.

Summers in Vancouver are about as good as it gets, but the other 8 months of the year suck.

Oh, I don't know about that...
property tax a year 3-6 k average (same)
car insurance $200 a month average (I pay more in Michigan for 2 vehicles and have a great driving record)
house insurance $1100 a year average (same)
natural gas in winter $120 a month avg (same)
eletrical $130 a month avg (relative and dependent on usage)
water bill $80 a month avg ($30 here)
car gas 87 is almost always around $1.00 to $1.20 a litre ($2.87/gallon here - nearing $5.00/gallon in parts of California)
if you make say 80 k a year your paying over 40 % tax on that (22% here)
our transit system sucks and expensive (we don't have one)
alcohol is expensive 40 - 60 bucks for a 24 (make your own wine - that's what my friend in Toronto does)

My grandfather used to say 'nothing is guaranteed in life aside from dying and paying taxes' :) This is the same man that picked himself up on his death bed, grabbed the hospital bed chrome rails, stared at my sister and said 'never, and I mean NEVER... vote for a democrat'.

hahahahaha...
