Replace tensioner pulley?

Replace tensioner pulley?
Just had my Disco II 2002 in for service and the shop told me that my tensioner pulley would need to be replaced soon--which explains the somewhat loud though not obnoxious "whirring" sound I hear.
The shop said that the replacement was a superior part--something about the original being plastic vs. a metal replacement, and that it was not an expensive repair...which suggested to me that I should look at ordering and replacing the part myself.
Any experience with this, or can anyone point me towards the right part?
Thanks,
Andrew

RE: Replace tensioner pulley?
It's very easy to replace, all you need is a wrench to take it off and some lock-tite on the bolt when you put it back on. Try "Atlantic British" or even your local parts store (I think advance auto had them). I never could find a metal replacement pulley though. You can replace the whole tensioner assembly too, but it's probably not necessary on an 02, just do the pulley. Replace your idler pulley while you're at it, they go bad too and the replacement is a nice metal unit (there are 2 sizes, make sure you get the right one).
