DiscoMike's 60K Service Help!
I have been working my way through the 60K service list on my 2004 SE with 58,000 miles and hit a snag. It took me an hour to find (what I think are) the engine block drain plugs for a coolant flush. I will include photos, but have I found the correct plugs how the heck do you remove those things? Is there some special trick or tool I don't know about? If I remember correctly, the plugs I found were both 10mm. One is right above the front differential and impossible to get to thanks to a wiring bundle, and the other is between the wheel-well and exhaust pipe. Is it even totally necessary to remove them or will the radiator hose/ water flush suffice? Also, per DiscoMike's recommendation I purchased DexCool. Is that in the trucks best interests? Thanks for the help, I don't know where I would be without the forum! Dont even get me started on the Viscous Fan removal!!!

I flushed my Dex-cool and replaced it at 80,000 miles. I have been fixing problems that were associated with it ever since. It has corroded my thermostat housing and numerous gaskets. I suggest replacing it with peak 50/50 or anything that you dont have to service as often. Check this out: http://sancarlosradiator.com/dex-cool.htm

Thanks for getting back to me. I will go with the bottom radiator hose method. If I change the DexCool more frequently would it be ok?
