ACEngineer, Just wondering if you would happen to have a "list" of parts/items that we will need to come up with? What exhaust manifolds, oil pan, hoses...anything that isn't included in your kit, that sort of thing. I know that there is a lot contained in the post here. But it would help simplify gathering up parts that are known to work. Thanks in advance, T

Yes, we have a general list put together, but it is not finalized yet. We've changed several smaller parts after recommendations from beta testers. We will release the parts list after it is finalized and we're sure nothing is going to change.

So I have an ls1 with a short pulley Whipple supercharger on top. I am assuming that is too much for the zf24 so would need to go with a 6 speed GM. Would the forums blow up over an almost all American disco?

That would probably be too much for the 4HP24 with the supercharger. A naturally aspirated LS1 would probably be okay. Some of our current beta testers have done full engine rebuilds with cam swaps that should be outputting a bit over stock 5.3 output.

I don't think the LS1 computer and 6L80e computer are compatible (different generations). I think with that setup you would have to use a 4L80, which means the transfer case would have to be moved back, and the driveshafts lengths altered.

I am so glad to see that the LS platform is now being mass produced for Discos!
I just sent you an email ACE, Ive been talking with a shop here local to me (Texas) about doing the conversion and they had several neat ideas for using a 4l80e with the larger 5.7-6.0.

I am getting lockers/gears installed by them next week and ill talk to them more about the swap options you have outlined.

I wish there was an adapter that doesn't cost an arm and a leg to to bolt the stock transfer case to a 4l60e or 4l80e. Then all you would need for it to move is custom driveshafts.

The 4L60e valve body physically conflicts with the LT230. The 4L80e would require a long adapter to fit. You would need weld-in mounts for the 4L80e. I don't think there would be a way to make a bolt-on setup with the 4L80e. That's why we went with the 4HP24 originally -- so that it would be bolt-on. I'm sure that we will take another look at GM transmission options eventually, but right now this offers the most straightforward and inexpensive setup.

Found it. https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...-63211/page25/

All that being said, this swap is allot simpler imo.
