Discovery camper conversion

given the Disco's tall stature and large amount of space in the back... if the rear seats were removed... i was wondering if anyone had ever considered turning it into a vanagon-esque camper vehicle. A "bed" on one side and perhaps an electric stovetop on the other? i don't know if the vehicle is long enough, but was just wondering.

love the roof-top tents but it might be nice to have everything self-contained.

I know I heard of a Defender (110?) that had a custom job done like this. Never saw pictures, but I've thought about it. Might be a cool idea if you have some money lying around.

I though about making a wood bunk that goes over the back seat. It could either be half or full width of the vehical.

haha i once saw the exact same combination made out of two VW Passat Wagons.

doesn't look too aerodynamic...

i guess that drawing is somewhat close to what i was thinking. i will try to see if it's long enough for me to lay down next time i'm down at my truck.
