lots of wires and you need the right stereo tools to take it out.

take a picture of the radio and we can tell you what it is.

well first off "DIN 75490" is a German measurement and the size is officially 180 X 50 mm (or roughly 7" X 2") double din is 180 X 100 mm (or roughly 7" X 4") and the uncommon din and a half (mostly seen in USA) is 180 X 75 mm (or roughly 7" X 3"), keep in mind that this measurement is for the body not the faceplate and depth is not included in din sizes. Now that that is established something you should know is the term "din" is what most refer to as the standard size of a radio but it is not actually accurate so measuring might be confusing if you are trying to be accurate. for example the actual measurements in SAE is 7.086614173" x 1.968503937" when your aftermarket head units will usually measure 7.2" X 2.11" so just use the sizes as approximates and go from there!

sorry for the lesson but most people don't know this so it may be interesting to some.

I just replaced mine with another factory stereo (caught fire). Wires at the back are all those that belong to the radio. Nothing on the sides except the duct work for the a/c. Got keys from Atlantic British. About the DIN, read Rover Chris' post. Cheers

It's funny, to get the radio out you can use those metal tabs that hold hanging paper file folders. Cut one in half and wrap the "handles" in tape so you don't cut up your hands. Us the hook ends in the tabs to remove the radio. I'm sure the actual removal tools work better but I pulled mine out (th attach a sirius radio antenna) a few years ago and it was easy, just slides out.

you can get the "removal keys" at autozone for $7. they say made for ford.

if you're going to install an aftermarket stereo, you'll need a metra harness. for my stereo i had to use the harness for hi-level pass through, metra 70-9401.

you'll lose your steering wheel controls unless you buy a controller, here's one but be sure to match the type of deck you're buying:
