Default Door Lock Actuator Refurb Questions

Has anyone refurbished their door lock actuator motors with Mabuchi FC-280PC-22125 motors?

The direct replacement Johnson Motors NF243G-103 are unobtainable in orders less than 3000. At least in my searching.

That's where a parts dismantler or the salvage yard might be of service.... there have also be posts about using a motor from Radio Shack.

Old thread.

Anything develop on the johnson or this mabuchi motor replacement. i don't want a used actuator. I don't want a new one at 2 to 3x $125. i don't really want to pay $50 per motor from Salman...no offense.

Anybody?

I replaced 2 of my non-working actuators with used ones and ran out of GAFs for fixing the old ones. Tried taking one apart but that was proving to be more work than it was worth.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all about fixing stuff and finding ways to save a buck but sometimes I value my time more than tinkering with a 10+ year old brittle plastic piece that wasn't meant to be tinkered with.

Well I think this may be one of those times it is worth it cuz this quickly becomes a $400 job with my labor.

I also don't want to ever have to do that job again (along with windows) which is why I'm avoiding used ones.

On the other hand if this was successful I think we'd see so many more posts. So yea.
