Double Din head unit: Disco 2?

has anyone installed a double din head unit into a Disco2? Pictures?

No, but recommend this.

Had a shop install it and Love it. Easy install except had to hack the bracket behind the head unit. It has a retractable 7” screen so its too deep for factory depth allowance.

Single din, steering wheel remote capable, rear view camera, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth...

There's a thread on one double-din just small enough to not have to cut up your plastic radio/dash fascia. It was ~~ $350 so I didn't buy that one: https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...d2-89484/page2

I cut the one plastic front bar on that dash fascia that went above the A/C control/below the single DIN radio. That gave me the extra height to be able to go with a cheap $60 double DIN.

There are DISCO 2 wiring harness shortcut harnesses for about $7 on eBay that I used so that I didn't have to track, trace, and cut any radio wires behind the dash. Install those to go aftermarket. Remove those snap-on wiring harnesses to go back to OEM stock.

The most time-consuming aspect was the hour it took to run the rear view camera wire under the carpet.

Also, if you need even more height for a larger double DIN, you can easily lower the A/C control box by removing the pullout (hidden) black plastic cupholder bar under the dash cover fascia and making small hidden cuts in the plastic for the relocation.

This example costs a bit more now but notice that its height is under 4 inches. That's what you want to keep your installation simple: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Free-Car-Re...QAAOSw011bnXBJ
