Default drain tubes

I cannot get this leak from the sunroof to go away for more than one or two rains. Have done everything that I have read in this forum. Blowing down from the sunroof into the tubes seems like it could make a clog worse. Has anyone drilled a hole underneath to access the outlet for the tubes and blown air up and out? I am thinking about this as part of a solution. I have narrowed down the area to a two inch square near the frontmud flaps.

Why drill a hole in the tube that would just leak when water flows down??
Either blow out the tubes are drop the head liner detach the tube and check them for obstructions and reattach.

No , I mean drill a hole underneath through the bottom of the molding where the tube terminates near the mudflaps. This would expose the end of the hose and allow me to blow air from the bottom up instead of from the suroof down.

That does make more since. Have you checked to make sure the tubes are still attached to the drain pan?

If you mean the pan that holds the sunroof system, yes. I have dropped enough of the headliner to see and reach in to make sure the tubes are stiill attached. Funny thing, blew out this afternoon and cleaned the seal and glass where contact is made on the sunroof. Was out tonight in the constant rain and drizzle and have remained dry. Drove and sat in the rain for about 3.5 hours. So, is this the process that I will have to do every time I see rain in the forcast? That will suck!

No, a little serice on the roof once or twice a year, cleaning and greasing the sun roof tracks is normal. The drain just plug up based on the amount of dust they swallow. I have never had my 99 plug up or leak.

Hi, I am having the same issue... when trying to locate the drain holes on my 2003 Disco s2 I cannot locate anything when i fully open the sunroof... I am surprised I do get water overnight when the sunroof is fully closed! where is the water coming in from?

Roof can leak around roof rail bolts, at the windshield, or around sunroof seals. Sunroof seals do not seal, that is why they put pans and drains in them. You need to pull the headliner and drive with not headliner for a few weeks while you find all the leaks.

When I did mine I removed the complete headliner, and recovered is as it was falling apart, the I removed both sunroofs, front and rear, remove the old sealant, and resealed the both, removed the glass seals and refitted them as well, and I using a electric cable mouse it either flexi steel or plastic used to pull cables through electric conduit, made sure the drain pipes were clear, so remember you have 2 seal per sunroof one sunroof to body, two sunroof glass to sunroof
