Dumb question on re/re front shocks.

Finally got the new Terrafirrmas on the rear - they're great. Feels much better.

Now trying to get the fronts off.

Does anyone have an idea as to what size those bolts on the tower are?

I can't get 12mm on them, and 13mm feels way loose. Do they make 12.5mm?
In fact so loose that I'm pretty sure I stripped two of the bolts. Which also means I need the size/rating of those two so I can replace them (should probably do all 8).

Nothing is ever as easy as it looks. Sigh.

FY108046 - Nyloc M8

13 fit on, but I agree it's loose. 1/2" fit very snug, I'd use that.

Oh. If they're nyloc then I should definitely replace them all.
½ seems so wrong on a metric truck. I did try with one, but had no faith so I didn't push it.

Thanks ZG!

Try wire brushing them first, it's possibly they're gummed up a bit. 1/2 was a very snug fit, had to tap it with the wrench.

"Possibly gummed up a bit" doesn't begin to describe them. But fair enough.

Those nuts, that's just a standard flanged M8 nyloc right? I'm hoping I can get them from a local fastener supply instead of having them shipped from England for £10 (and why are genuine LR £14 a pop!??!). Any other specs I need to buy them? I hate going into a place like that and not knowing what I want — end up feeling like an idiot.

Thanks Again.

I use a lot of sae on metric. seems to work better for some stuff. like the 1 1/4" stake nuts

Stake nuts? Now that doesn't seem right…

We have them for like a dollar a piece... Why pay shipping from Uk? They're flanged nuts, not standard hex

Well, you're wire brushing your nuts, so..,. Can't sound too bad.
