Engine Skips/Lose of Power
 

Hi,

Over the past month, I have started to have problems with my 97' Discovery. While driving between 50 - 75 MPH, I have noticed it feels like the engine is skipping a beat. Almost feels like I am running over small bumps in the road. I really notice this while accelerating up hills on the freeway. Over the past week it has become more noticeable and very distracting when driving.

The check engine light is on and the code is P1447. Not sure if this is the cause as it relates to the evaporation/purge valve. In looking at other posts relating to P1447, it does not seem to have an effect on my issue.

The spark plugs were last changed at 110K and the truck current has 141k on it. I have never replaced the spark plug wires. Could this be the problem? I should mention, I have not gotten any miss fire codes. recently I have had the IAC and fuel pump replaced.
