So why not make the snorkel water tight, and then you do not have to worry about sucking air in the factory low level air intake. Yea, it is not a diesel, but does it not make some sense to try to get the air intake higher to avoid sucking water in if you plan on playing in higher water a lot?

When it rains, its going to suck in water, its going to suck in snow, which will melt and collect, there is water in the air, you cant see it but its there (humidity), that will also condense and collect.
Besides that, get the coils wet, dead in the water, TPS, dead in the water, MAF...you simply cannot completely submerge a petrol engine.

You cannot submerge a petrol engine, they are not sealed like a diesel engine is, diesels have no vacuum lines, only the air intake and exhaust, both of which are sealed.
Brake vacuum on a diesel is done by a vacuum pump, same with the cruise.
Snorkels are mounted high away from the dust from the road, as we all know dust is heavier than air so it settles to the ground so it is thickest at ground level, put the air intake 6ft above the ground and you can drive in dusty conditions longer before your air filter becomes clogged.
Thats why farm tractors air intake is up high, away from all of the dust from the fields.
