Favorite tires?
I am looking for an all season tire for the 04 Discovery. My requirements are for something that is good on the highway, but can handle light mud and snow. Wear is not a major consideration, as I only anticipate doing a few thousand miles a year.
Right now the truck has Sumitomo HTR AS's. Starting to crack, not worn out though.
Kind of got my eye on the Bridgestone Duelers, Yokohama 052, or Continental LX20. Anything I've missed? As you've probably guessed, I'm looking for something mid priced.
Any thoughts.? Thanks!

-Cooper Discoverer H/T Plus is tough to beat for an all season + some AT characteristics, and they're cheap too.
-Cheapest ATs out there are Maxxis Bravo 771, but they're certainly not the best.
-I went up a notch in the AT category and bought the Falken Wild Peak ATs which are great for all around driving. Cheaper than the more popular BFG, Firestone Destination, and Nitto ATs, but a better tire than the Maxxis.

Loosely related to your topic, I posted something on the forum about tires and lousy traction in snow.
lousy traction in snow
Forgo the jabs to my post, and look at folks comments. Reading this post may also help you in the decision making process.
I'm not too thrilled with my Cooper Discovery CST. But again, after you read my post, it could be me and how mush PSI I run on the tires. More importantly on this post about lousy traction in snow, someone replied about some cooper tires mysteriously loosing air and other issues. I'm a victim of mysteriously loosing air. So if Cooper tires are on your radar, just read up on my post and google whatever you can about those tires just to make sure you are comfortable with your decision.
If I had to do it all over again, I'd probably go with terra grapplers or back to my Nokians wrg2s.
Good luck!
