First off-road adventure in the D2
Just figured I’d post here about our first outing in the D2. We loaded up the 3 kids, a grill, cooler and a small toolbox and extra bits before embarking on the hour drive to Northwest OHV Park in Bridgeport, TX. Firstly, the D2 can swallow a lot of gear and people, even without any added storage like a roof rack. I took out one of the jump seats, but still. The drive was uneventful as Ive got a lot of time, and help from you guys, to get it up to snuff. Tons of rain, but a steady 44-45 PSI oil pressure and below 194 for the whole ride. Alright so we filled up before getting to the park, then met an old friend we hadn’t seen in a while with his family and their 2000 Jeep Wrangler. I must say, I’m super impressed with the D2 on and off road. I’m running 255/65R16’s and a small TF lift. The tires are garbage, but after airing down, the D2 never felt without enough grip to pull out of trouble. New tires are definitely my top priority right now though. I was keeping up with my buddy and his Jeep on 32’s, except for the real muddy parts. Some places I just couldn’t find grip. And we’ve had several inches of rain over the past week. Anyway, here’s some pics. Thank you everybody for all the help so far. Heres lunch time, before things got serious. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/landrov...badec2987.jpeg My buddy and I being silly. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/landrov...c90d093f9.jpeg And heres the old girl doing what she was meant to (I got out to check water depth.) https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/landrov...14fdb0b85.jpeg Bonus shot my friends wife took of me in a big mud pit area. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/landrov...b3b95dde4.jpeg |
Oh, I forgot. I also pulled a brand new Jeep out of some mud. Nobody got a pic of that though. |
Nice to know about that place, thanks!
